Federal Civil Rights Investigations Opened Over Alleged Antisemitism

The U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights has opened two federal civil rights investigations into the Etiwanda School District in California and the American Musical Dramatic Academy in New York following complaints alleging that two Jewish students faced antisemitic harassment and discrimination in educational settings and that their schools failed to protect them.

Jewish Gathering Targeted with Antisemitic Threats

Rabbis Mendy and Rivka Minkowitz became targets of antisemitic hate, doxxing, threats, and harassment after sharing a flyer for a Chabad-Lubavitch Shabbat program at Elon University, but the event continued at an alternative location with more than 100 students attending.

Swastikas Left at Ventura Synagogue

Swastikas and antisemitic messages were spray-painted on Temple Beth Torah and neighboring Higher Vision church in Ventura, with additional nearby graffiti discovered as investigators examined whether the incidents were connected.

Colorado School District Leads to Reforms Against Antisemitism

The Boulder Valley School District has entered into a settlement agreement to implement comprehensive, districtwide measures to prevent and address antisemitic harassment, bullying and discrimination, resolving a federal civil rights complaint filed by the Anti-Defamation League.
